Around the table

There is nothing quite like the feeling of sitting around the table, eating wonderful food and having a lively conversation. For me, there is no better place to be than around a table with those I love.

This is a two-fold project that hopes to embody that feeling. This project seeks to highlight women doing work in the creative food field and to bring women of all creative fields around a table for dinner and discussion.

The Documentary Web Series

With all the emphasis on Sacramento being the Farm to Fork capital, it’s time to do more to only highlight our wonderful restaurants. The driving force behind this documentary series is to highlight women in all facets of food including but not limited to farmers, chefs, non-profit leaders, instructors, designers, bloggers, winemakers, brewers, small business owners, florist, ceramicist- the list could go on and on.

This series seeks to tell the story behind each woman, how she got to where she is, and why food/Sacramento plays such an important role in her life.

Know someone who you think would be interested in being featured? Send a note with an introduction! Want to help out with the series? Check out what we’re looking for on the jobs/opportunities page.

The Dinners

This dinner is for women in all avenues of creative work, whether that’s full-time or as a side-hustle. These dinners are an open table to discuss work and life, through our everyday lens. These dinners will be held once a month at Grove Haus Studio with a topic selected for each dinner.

The goal is to have a place to share and discuss openly with no judgement. Topics for the dinners will include avoiding burnout, time management, self-care, making the leap, and supporting creativity through motherhood (with more topics to come).

Dinners are $25 and will be catered to specific dietary restrictions. Dinners will occur on the fourth Wednesday of every month, starting in July, and will happen from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Tickets and the week's theme will be released a week before each dinner.
